Cast
From the co-creator of Narcos comes Godfather of Harlem, a gritty depiction of the collision of the criminal underworld and the civil rights movement, set during one of the most defining times in American history.
The crime drama series takes inspiration from infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson, played by the Academy Award-winning Forest Whitaker. After ten years of incarceration, he returns to Harlem to find it in ruins, riddled by a drug epidemic and under the thumb of the Italian mob. In the words of Johnson, “Harlem is a tinderbox, it’s about to explode.”
His battle to regain control of the town intertwines him with Malcolm X (Nigel Thatch), alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, Australia’s own Lucy Fry, Giancarlo Esposito, Paul Sorvino and Ilfenesh Hadera.
